Needs for Library Giving Day

The Friends of the Bedford Public Library are dedicated to enhancing our community’s access to knowledge, learning, and connection. As the ways people learn and work continue to evolve, we recognize the urgent need to expand our library’s resources to better serve students, remote workers, and families. To meet these needs, we are raising funds for three essential additions to our library:

  1. Library Programs: Supporting programs at the Bedford Public Library is important for the library’s long-term health and meaningful impact on the community. Library programs offer learning beyond books for all ages. Programs help individuals build skills, explore new interests, and support lifelong learning. Programs bring people together - social events, group classes, cultural activities, and community partnerships help the library act as a community hub where people of different ages and backgrounds can meet, learn, and connect.
  2. Interactive Learning Toys for the Children's Area: Play is a fundamental part of a child’s development, helping to build critical thinking, motor skills, and social interaction. By introducing high-quality interactive learning toys to the children’s area, we can foster hands-on learning and engagement, making the library an even more enriching space for young minds.
  3. Ebooks to Expand Digital Access: In an increasingly digital world, access to ebooks is essential for lifelong learning and literacy. Ebooks provide flexibility for readers who prefer digital formats, individuals with disabilities who benefit from adjustable text settings, and community members who may not be able to visit the library in person. Expanding our digital collection ensures that more people can access the books they need anytime, anywhere.

By supporting this initiative, you are investing in a stronger, more inclusive library that meets the evolving needs of our community. Your generosity will directly impact students, remote workers, children, and readers of all ages - ensuring that our library remains a vital resource for learning and growth.

Together, we can create a library that serves everyone. Thank you for your support on Library Giving Day!
